Whether for a corporate brand website serving domestic and international markets, or a highly complex SaaS platform, AI tool, or enterprise administration system, excellent UI (user interface) design is never an outlet for a designer's personal artistic expression. It is about using restrained, precise visual order to help users achieve business goals with the least cognitive effort.
Based in Beijing and serving technology and manufacturing companies in China and overseas, JVDS approaches every UI/UX product design project with an unwavering commitment to the following six core design principles:

1. Six practical principles for enterprise UI design
- Clarity always comes before decoration (Clarity Over Decoration) Every block of color, shadow, line, and icon in an interface should help communicate information. If a flashy background particle effect or translucent frosted-glass overlay makes the product specification text above it blurry and difficult to read, reduce the decoration and strengthen the text contrast without hesitation (ensure body text meets the WCAG AA contrast standard of ≥ 4.5:1).
- Give every screen a clear order of importance: establish unambiguous visual hierarchy (Visual Hierarchy) If every heading on a page is the same size and every button is bright red, nothing stands out. Use a strict type scale, contrasting weights (Bold vs Regular), whitespace, and an accent action color covering no more than 10% of the screen to guide the eye smoothly from “main value proposition → key evidence → primary call-to-action (CTA).”
- Strong consistency across devices and pages (Consistency & Design System)
Equivalent components across the website or product must follow uniform physical rules: cards at the same level use the same corner radius, primary buttons provide the same hover feedback, and padding follows a
4px / 8pxbase grid. Consistency not only substantially lowers front-end code maintenance costs, but also lets users “learn it once and use it everywhere on the site.” - Visible states and immediate feedback (Visibility of System Status)
Never leave an interface in the silent state of “I clicked, but nothing happened.” Whether showing a button's pressed state, asynchronous data loading progress, file upload percentage, or a successful form save, provide a clear visual response within
100ms–300ms. - Prevent errors first and support gentle recovery (Error Prevention & Recovery) For irreversible actions such as deleting data or submitting high-value approval requests, provide clear secondary confirmation or an Undo option. For complex form inputs, provide input format masks and automatic temporary draft saving to prevent errors before they occur.
- Responsive resilience for real content and multiple viewports (Resilience & Responsiveness) Excellent UI design looks good not only on a 27-inch Apple display, but also maintains an elegant, stable layout on a 13-inch office laptop, a foldable phone, and when displaying real Chinese and English copy of different lengths.
